Hart is a pretty obsolete word for a stag, so I almost didn't do this one. But since I already had the deer drawn, there was really no reason NOT to include it.

Gorilla & Guerilla

My all-time favorite homophone! I remember giggling about this in junior high with my friend Abe so much that we got in trouble with a librarian. :)
I suppose, looking back, it's not that funny, really. It's also a lazy anglicization of a Spanish word, so you could make the argument that these really aren't homophones at all. If you wanted to be that way.

With an A – precious, sentimental, beloved.
With two Es – Bambi, Rudolph, House Baratheon.

Choral & Coral

With an H – referring to a choir.
Without an H – a type of marine invertebrate.

Lam & Lamb

Why are police on the lookout for wool?
Because it's always on the lamb!

In the summer, I say "shoo" to my shoes.

Breach & Breech

With an A – (v.) break through from one area into another.
With an E – (n.) hind section of an object or animal.

Scoot & Scute

-oot – (v.) a little bit sliding, a little bit shuffling, just kinda nudgin' along, y'know?
-ute – (n.) a bony plate such as the ones that cover a turtle's or armadillo's shell.
Speaking of which, whaddaya think of that cute little turtle? 'Scute, isn't it? :)

Ewes & Use

As in, "I can utilize the wool from those female sheep."

Forth & Fourth

As in, "After the first three butterflies emerged, the fourth came forth."

Gnu, Knew, New

This one goes out to Yvonne Treis, who emailed me recently to suggest it (possibly because she knows I like doing the animal ones best). In other words, she asked for this new post because she knew I'd want to draw the gnu.

As in, "You really shouldn't chain up a wildcat."

Lead & Led

With an A – a heavy metal, atomic number 82.
Without an A – past tense of, well, Lead. Oh, sheesh, that's confusing. "Lead/Lead" would be a good candidate for Homographs, Weakly, if I decided to branch out a bit.
