Threw & Through
Threw – Past tense of "throw."
Through – In one end and out the other. Also, to complete a task. So, in the picture, the ball goes through the net, and the game is through as the clock runs out.
I was writing a post about a little pet peeve of mine, the difference between through and threw. Upon searching for a pic to add I ran across this one and it was my favorite. Hope you don't mind that I borrowed it. I also gave you credit with a link back to your blog. Any problems, feel free to let me know and I'll remove it and find something else. Also, I didn't realize there were so many homophones out there, wow!
